Elementor Internal Error (500)

If you're using a page builder like Elementor to design your WordPress pages, you may occasionally run into a 500 Internal Server Error while editing. This is a known issue within Elementor and is typically caused by a technical conflict — for example between specific widgets, complex page templates, or third-party add-ons.

The good news: it's almost always fixable without losing your work.

How to fix it

  1. Duplicate the page — Clone your current page and save it. Alternatively, create a new page, import your existing template, and save the new version.
  2. Replace the original — Once the new page is confirmed working, you can safely delete the original.
